I have to say, it's easy to get on kids for having these announcements, claiming they are just seeking attention, etc. This ignores the fact the high schools themselves want to celebrate their students and their accomplishments because they are proud of them.Â
My favorite part of the whole deal was his coach saying how Bryce just today asked him what the school rushing record was. He didn't even want to know until well after he played his last game for his school. The coach then said he told Bryce he set the record this season. Very cool, and so epitomizes the team before self attitude that seems to come with every Stanford football player.
