West Virginia and Alaska Fairbanks have won 24 of 27 NCAA championships since 1983. Â Murray State (Detroit) won two , and Army won the other one.
In retrospect, I might have felt better had Army won all of the championships, but they usually do pretty well and finished sixth this year (second in 2008 and 2007). Â And it is similarly comforting that both West Virginia and Kentucky (home of the Hatfield/McCoy feud) have done very well.
