First album: Styx, Paradise Theater*
First cassette: The Smiths, Strange Ways Here We Come
First CD: The Police, Ghost in the Machine
First Concert: The Police, Synchronicity Tour, 1983 (Openers: Berlin, The Fixx, Thompson Twins)

+1 on the Police.  My first CD may have been The Best Of CD (or it might have been REM's Out of Time; I got the two pretty close together).

I haven't been to many concerts; I grew up in Latin America, so few acts came by.  My first concert might have been REM at the Shorline while I was at Stanford.  One of the few concerts I've been to was The Police during their reunion tour a few years ago at Dodger Stadium.

My first album was some compilation album created in Venezuela.  It featured Jump by Van Halen and Big in Japan by Alphaville among others that I have long since forgotten.  First casette (and pretty much all of them) was a mix tape.

iTunes tells me that the first album I purchased from Apple was No Line on the Horizon by U2.
