According to Trevor Matich, this is what allows Stanford to prevail today.  Y'all comfy with Stanford being characterized as "Caveman Violence" vs. "Intellectual Brutality?"

If "Caveman Violence" is what Matich thinks of this offense he's an even bigger IDIOT than I previously thought.  This offense is at its best when it gets the defense to sell out against ground & pound and then uses misdirection & play action to exploit single coverage against players like Love, Cajuste, Hooper, and Schultz against who traditional coverage is highly unlikely to succeed.  Not many LBs or safeties who can bring down love by themselves in open space, and same goes for CBs trying to single Cajuste or ILBs trying to single Hooper or Schultz.  If you have those four guys out there along with CMac somebody is going to be VERY open or McCaffrey is going to face only six or fewer defenders in the middle.  It's just a matter at that point if the defense guesses right, and if Hogan can win the chess match.

I'll take Hogan to win that chess match all day and all night.
