The KSU fans are among the many in history that have underestimated their opponent.
- David vs Goliath. Didn't work out for Goliath. Unfortunately, I think that Stanford has become a football Goliath.
- Marathon (490 BC) Persians underestimated the Greeks but helped to create a compelling Olympic event
- Salamis (479 BC) Persians under the leadership of Xerxes underestimated the Greeks again
- Cannae (216 BC)Â the Romans underestimate Hannibal and get crushed
- Poiters (732) The Arabs get the big sausage from the Franks and are sent back to Arabia
- Agincourt (1071) The English teach the French how to speak English
- Vienna (1683) Ottoman expansion in Europe delayed for 400 years (not clear how this may end ). But the Ottomans don't have a stable of QBs, RBs, or WRs
- Midway (1942) the best ass kicking in history. By Far.
- Dien Bien Phu (1954) The French are rudely escorted out of Viet Nam, but contribute a great deal to Vietnamese cuisine during their stay.
The Wildcats watched the film, studied the history, but like many losers in history didn't really understand what they were up against.
