Georgia is the team that stinks, not Tennessee, IMO. The UGAs were absolutely destroyed by Ole Miss last week. And I think it is more than reasonable to assume Tennessee turned a big corner by coming back like they did on Florida.
The Wisconsin-Michigan tilt is fascinating. I've kind of seen Wisconsin as overrated, having beaten a mediocre LSU to vault so high in perception. But they really clobbered Sparty last week, so maybe they really are good. As for Michigan, Colorado is far and away the best team they have played to date. I think Wisconsin is better on D than Colorado, but not on O. Fascinating matchup for sure, but who the F does Harbaugh think he is playing 5 straight home games to start the season? That's just ridiculous.Â
Louisville-Clemson. Wow. Glad Stanford isn't playing when this game is going on, because it is as must see TV for a college football fan - especially one who is also a Niners fan and looking at DeShaun Watson as a possible first round pick - as there is. It's really hard to pick against Louisville, but history tells us teams like Louisville struggle in spots like this. Given Florida State's defense appears to be a lot worse than most people assumed, and Clemson's is really good, I'm going to go with Clemson. Clemson opened -3 and Louisville is now -2, so people like Louisville a lot more than Stanford.Â
Utah-Cal, ASU-U$C, Arizona-UCLA are all fascinating for different reasons. All of them can be looked at as more "who will represent the South" in the Pac-12 CG, beauty contests. Cal is holding as a 1pt favorite, U$C is -10, and UCLA -13. I think UCLA is the most believable here. U$C should put up plenty of points on Sparky, but can they stop anyone? And Cal, well, the run defense was actually pretty good against ASU, and Utah struggled to stop U$C, and the Bear offense is potent.Â
