College football is a tough gig. Not to be cantankerous, but, including Harbaugh's Orange Bowl year in which he served as co-OC (?), Shaw is 76-18 over the 7 year period, with many Pac12 championships and BCS bowls. No NC or playoff games.
Coming into this year another Pac12 coach over seven seasons as OC and head coach was 79-15 with many Pac12 championships, BCS bowls as well as NC games. I'm sure the respect for him was high as he was fired.
Don't take this anywhere else.
