Not to count any chickens, but Texas just narrowly beat NC State and will be our next opponent if we get past Kansas State.  In the first quarter, Texas looked unstoppable.  Then the speedy guards of NC State gave them fits.  The game was called very closely by the refs--NC State had 4 players foul out.  52 fouls altogether.  Made me realize how radically the officiating can change the style of the game.  McCarty looked good.

At first, I was rooting for NC State to upset Texas, because the Longhorns would be very difficult to beat two times in one season and they would be extra motivated to avenge their loss to us.

But as I was watching that game, I saw the damage the NC State guards were doing and remembered how difficult it was for us to contain the NM State guards yesterday and imagined it would be a very difficult matchup for us to limit not just one, but two speedy guards.

So I was conflicted about who I wanted to win. In the end, Texas did, but first we have to beat KSU tomorrow
