one thing that had definitely changed since my time on the Farm (1979-82) is transfer admissions (I'm one).  In my class ('82) there are over 150 transfers, some as sophomores, some as juniors, some from community colleges, some from four year universities and probably some other unusual combos I didn't even know about then.  Back then the transfer admit rate was a little lower then the freshman admit rate.  My understanding is that currently there are almost no transfers.
