It's like corned beef and cabbage.  No one in Vatican City would recognize or give a damn about Noter Dame football.  It isn't real in their eyes.  It's a uniquely American thing.  Pope don't care.  Besides, Pope's a Jesuit.  Clearly a BC fan...;)
