Keep in mind, on the UCLA 2-deep, there were just 6 5th yr Seniors and only 7 guys in their final year of eligibility. Even if a couple guys were to declare early and a few retirements, Stanford loses no more than probably 12 guys off the 2017 scholarship roster. So the class is going to be tiny, probably no more than 12-13 I would guess. Given there are 7 commits, more than half the class is full now.
The issue for this class isn't numbers per se, as much as what positions get addressed, namely DL and LB.
It does look like the 2019 class is shaping up to be a much bigger haul in terms of quantity and quality, but that doesn't mean the 2018 class won't have some very key pieces.Â
