At this point, I am surprised that Alexander and Branch's injuries don't linger through the season so each can get a medical redshirt. Neither redshirted as a frosh, and it seems like they both could be more valuable in their fifth years (next year for Alexander) and (two years from now for Branch) than they will be over the remaining five games. We could be losing a bunch of DBs to the NFL this year so Alexander could be a key guy next year. They both played in Rice game, but they would be able to apply for medical redshirt if they could show their injuries kept them out for the season.
