[quote author=JPRI link=topic=17737.msg207363#msg207363 date=1508675002]Can't help wondering what has happened to SDSU. They also almost got beat by Air Force, a team that is having one of their worst years in some time. Perhaps they are like the Stanford teams of old, who would beat an Ohio State one week and then turn around and lose to someone like SJS the next,

I mean, perhaps they've gotten worse since we played, but losing that game was a perfect storm. We absolutely shouldn't have and if we replayed it now we'd crush them. Sometimes a team just stinks it up and loses a game they shouldn't, that was a case of that happens.

Right. Remember back to 2016. Stanford whips SC 27-10. Penn State loses to Pitt. The losing teams go to the Rose Bowl.

Separately, I've been as big a Clay Helton skeptic as anyone -- but I didn't anticipate it falling apart as fast as it has. I figured he'd spiral down post-Darnold.
