I suspect that there was a reason that Chryst remained in the game. It could be that Costello was injured or being disciplined, or it could be that Chryst was being given a full game to maintain his starting position. This was the most likely game to try to make that evaluation. Shaw saw the same game and stats that fans did, and he's not an idiot. Moreover, a coach just isn't going to negatively evaluate a player's performance in a press conference.
