I agree with Goose.  Chryst can put enough zip on the ball when he wants to.  The reason it seems slow is that he is slow to pull the trigger and throw it.  He’s just too hesitant.

I’d love to fit him with an augmented reality helmet that trains him to glance at a receiver, after which point that portion o father field blacks out.  That would force him to  either throw or move to the next olayer in the progression.
