Well, I sure hope that was the case. I think that is what a college coach is supposed to do. 

I don't think Minnesota's future performance will say much about Coach Allister's abilities, just as Shaw's success at Stanford doesn't say much either way about Harbaugh's coaching ability. 
However, Stanford's future success certainly will.
