Redrum, I'm at the Big 12 championships this weekend, and let me tell you, Alabama has taken a big step in its rowing program -- they've beaten K-State (which they've not yet been able to do until this season), and they'll be challenging Tennessee for third-place at this regatta.
All two of the SEC schools' rowing programs (Tenn, Bama) are associate members of the Big 12 conference, which means their combined numbers give them just enough to qualify for the NCAA give the whole conference one automatic qualifier bid to the national championship regatta.
Stanford is at the Pac-12 championships this weekend on Lake Natoma. Should be a fun set of races if anyone is in the area.
