Here's a list of our challenges:
1. Maria Fassi, Arkansas (68.4)
2. Lauren Stephenson, Alabama (68.5)
3. Lilia Vu, UCLA (68.55)
4. Patty Tavatanakitt, UCLA (69.1)
7. Kristen Gillman, Alabama (69.4)
8. Andrea Lee, Stanford (69.4)
9. Leona Maguire, Duke
10. Sophia Schubert, Texas
13. Dylan Kim, Arkansas
14. Alana Uriel, Arkansas
17. Cheyenne Knight, Alabama
18. Kaitlyn Papp, Texas
22. Mariel Galdano. UCLA (70.4)
24. Janavee Boonchant, Duke
29 Albane Valenzuela, Stanford (71.0)
31. Alisen Corpus, USC
32. Ana Balac, Duke
40. Zi Yi Wang, Stanford (71.4)
47. Emilee Hoffman, Texas
50. Mika Liu, Stanford (71.7)
Alabama, UCLA, and Arkansas are loaded.
UCLA looks vulnerable in match play, however, as their #4 Bethay Wu played horribly in the regionals and their number five isn't good. The Bruins also depend heavily on racking up birdies on par fives. Karsten Creek's par fives are long and hard. Add into this the Bruins' demoralizing collapse in last year's regionals, and it's possible to see them failing to advance. Not a good bet but a great bet if you get the odds.
Arkansas is lethal but their number five is playing terribly, too. They're a brobdingnagian favorite to get to match play but they're vulnerable there.
Alabama is loaded. Period.
