The respective paths to the semi finals are pretty eye-opening. Stanford had to face a Michigan team that probably should’ve been seeded just to get here, beat the number one team in the country 4-1, and just blanked the number three team in the country according to UTR. Meanwhile, Duke just had to beat Oregon to get to the round of 16, played an overrated Northwestern squad, and rolled over an overmatched Texas Tech. Neither team has really been challenged, but the difference is that we have played three awfully good teams in the last three rounds.
