On the 16th day of a 17 day streak with no games off, Giants are approach .500 again today.  They are 23-24, Stratton got the win with five shaky innings.  Some highlights:

Crawford was hitting .189 on May 1.  Eighteen days later, he is hitting .302.  Belt at .308, Posey at .307.  Much maligned Gorkys Hernandez is hitting .272.  McCutchen and Crawford had three hits, backup Gomez, Belt, Posey and Longoria had two each.  BCraw homered.

Will Smith had a three up/three down inning and has given up zero runs in eight appearances.  Johnson, Dyson, Watson also gave up zero runs.

Mac Williamson homered in the first night of his rehab assignment.  He's hitting .465, and Alen Hanson (my new fave 2B) was hitting .403 in AAA.

BTW, the Giants are on path to strike out 300 more times than their worst strikeout season in history.  Current path is 1,544 Ks, prior worst season was 1,235.

Just for the heck of it:  Chris Heston, 12-11 in 2015, 22nd rookie to throw a no hitter in baseball history, had years of arm problems, currently has a 2.70 ERA for the Sacramento RiverCats.  In 3 1/3 innings, he's given up one run, one hit, two walks and struck out five.  In his no-hitter, he also gave up no walks and there were no errors, but he hit three batters.  In fact, he led the league in hit batters that year with 13.  He's 30 years old.  Will be interesting to see if he makes it back.

Steven Duggar's OPS is under .700, he's batting .243 and he has two home runs in 169 ABs.  Meanwhile, Stanford's Austin Slater is first on the RiverCats among starters with a .385 average and a 1.137 OPS.  He has no errors in the field and two double plays.  Duggar, BTW, has seven errors.  No joke.

Change of topic to the upcoming draft.....

It appears SF and Detroit are both looking closely at Joey Bart, C, Ga. Tech.  If the Tigers go for Casey Mize from Auburn, could it be that SF drafts another Georgia-born catcher?  The last one has done pretty well.  On the other hand, if Detroit takes him, the door is open for the Giants to select Mize.....
