I, too, think fatigue starts to become a factor. It is true that it is a factor for all the teams, but it manifests differently in different situations. It isn't physical. These are are young, fit women and they could probably handle much more golf today. But the fatigue is a slight lapse in concentration or an impulsive tactical judgment or a minor slip in swing technique.
Ted Wiĺliams is said to have teased Sam Snead about how easy golf is. After all, he said, I have to try to hit a ball moving at 95 m.p.h. with movement. Sam responded, "Yeah, but I have to play my foul balls."
Those short putts that were missed can be the result of stress overload that has led to a very small loss of focus. The game sometimes places pressure relentlessly, and one moment's lapse of concentration can cost a stroke. And then the game gives you a few minutes to try not to think about that error. ?
