Gordon wins over Wichita's Bizhukova 6-2, 6-3. Arbuthnott wins over South Carolina's #1 Gamarra Martins 6-3, 7-5.
Gordon against Talaba (Texas Tech) tomorrow at 11 AM ET. Arbuthnott against Florida's Kuhlman at the same time.
Mostly chalk, with two notable exceptions - the withdrawal of Arbuthnott's original opponent, and, in Gordon's bracket - #1 overall seed Bianca Turati losing her opening match to 7-6, 4-6, 6-3 to Pepperdine's Luisa Stefani. Stefani plays Jada Hart from UCLA tomorrow (at 8 AM ET - wonder how those two West Coasters are going to do at that hour?), with the winner facing the winner of Gordon-Talaba.
