In terms of Reynolds’s results, during his first year, he recruited Ryan Johnson and DWP, both of whom he redshirts. His second full year he recruits Booker and Fox.
All of them are top 350 recruits, and it’s the first time I’ve seen Stanford have 4 rated DL’s together.
During Solomon Thomas RSFrosh year, toward the tail end (like the pac12 championship game) he was really asserting himself.
So, by the end of this season, we should have a glimpse of what Reynolds can do with some guys he recruited.
FWIW I re-watched most of the scrimmage last night, and I came away even more excited about Peek, and less negative on DWP. I didn’t see Johnson make any plays, but he seemed to get more comfortable over the course of the day, and seemed to move his man well horizontally.
It’s up to the players to see where they end up, but from the glimpses, in a very good case scenario I could see Peek and Johnson (and to a lesser-extent DWP) becoming disruptors by the end of the season, and Williams and Swann being solid, with 3 more able to contribute if they all advance and grow.
But Peek was the only one I saw make plays with any consistency, though most if not all plays were made against the 2nd string oline (first stringers like Swann and Jackson had tougher oline competition)
