A couple adds here.
1) Holder is the man and is underappreciated. He changes the complexion of the game and our entire defense. Our DL and LBs look better with him in the game. All he does is shut down the other team's best receiver and takes away the QBs favorite option. I think he was on Amon Ra most of the night.
2) Murphy is a captain and Edwards has a lot of experience, but I think our four best DBs are Holder, Adebo, Buncom and Antoine. I don't think I ever saw that lineup together in the non-nickel as I think Adebo came in for Murphy and Antoine came in more for nickel and Edwards was still on the field most of the time, but I think we will see that lineup later this season in our base defense. Simmons should be in mix when he returns as well.
3) Sarrel's injury looked serious. You hate to lose depth on our OL, but LG was the area where we had the most depth. Hamilton started and played the first two series. We may be better with Hamilton playing all the time and having a more consistent OL. We just can't afford another injusty as Sarrel could have filled for an injury at the tackle position. Little and Hall better stay healthy. The good news here is that we may have just found our starting Left Tackle for the 2021 season (which was looking like the biggest whole on the long term depth chart) as Sarrel did not redshirt and may get a medical redshirt this year if he is done for the season.
4) Weddington was in a golf cart with crutches during the walk. Not a good sign. It could have been precautionary and I am truly guessing, but my guess is that he is out for more than a couple of weeks.
