The Santa Clara goalkeeper, Melissa Lowder, is the same one who was so spectacular in their victory over us in the NCAAs two years ago - and even in our defeat of them last year. Thank god she's a senior - expect perhaps in the tournament (and I hope not there, unless in the finals), we won't see her again.
I still can't get over the fact that Baldomero Toledo was reffing this game. He is SUCH an AWFUL MLS ref - for all the reasons we saw yesterday. BTW, anyone believe we committed 15 fouls in the second half to Santa Clara's 4? They outfouled us 5-4 in the first half and 5 to 2 in OT but it almost feels as though Baldomero wanted to even up the match. Grumble.
