I re-watched the second half and with the comfort of knowing the outcome and a lower heartrate, could appreciate better how many good plays were made. Oregon definitely made mistakes, but Stanford executed a lot of good ones too, like the one you mentioned. Jet Toner's kick wasn't a gimme under that pressure, but he made it look smooth. He misses that one, and the whole discussion of this board gets flipped. We got down the field in a hurry several times in the 2H, and KJ delivered good throw after throw.

Reviewing some highlights, I noticed this unsung play of the game....

With 27 seconds left, we had first and ten at the 45 yard line after the completion to Parkinson.  Costello hits JJ Arcega Whiteside underneath with a defender in a position to make the tackle after a short gain.  Had he been tackled, we would have been forced to use our last time out outside of field goal range and thus been limited to sideline throws.

Instead, JJAW eludes the tackler and makes it to the line to gain at the 35.  He also bounces off a second would-be tackler and makes it out of bounds at the 30.  That stops the clock with 18 seconds left within field goal range.  The next play (a checkdown to Love) brings us another 9 yards closer and  well within Toner's range (and we got an extra five yards on the ensuing too many men on the field penalty), and the rest, as they say, is history.
