I just see our running plays being way too slow to develop. By the time Love has the ball and takes a step forward, the entire 11 defenders are moving forward to stop the run. Before he gets to the LOS, our blockers have made their initial contact and are trying to maintain contact with defenders that are shucking blocks and closing gaps. The one play that BL broke for a TD was the exception. He followed a lead block by the FB and hit the hole fast. On the other long run, he broke the outside and made it around the corner. We cannot expect our lineman to hold their blocks that long.
If we could run a trick play where Love takes the handoff and then pitches back to Costello for a pass, there would be no one defending a TE who released from a block and headed upfield. We have to keep defensive secondaries more honest. Love is a magnet and magnets can be used for many purposes.

Put a glide in your stride and a dip in your hip.
