I have never cared about the playoffs or national championship--I detest that system and don't watch it. My passion is going to the Rose Bowl and beating a Big10 team. Second after that comes beating USC and third after that is beating C.al. So long as we keep beating Pac 12 teams all my goals are in reach. Losing to Notre Dame was not fun, but if I had to pick any game to lose in the regularly scheduled season I would have opted for that one. The game this week could be another step toward the Rose Bowl. Not as important as the North teams but more important than Notre Dame.
This week it feels like nobody cares about Utah, like the season is over after the beat down Stanford took in South Bend, given how little discussion there has been about the Utes game. I'm concerned the lack of enthusiasm for this game will be reflected in the game itself.
But I made my first post in this thread to maybe see if anyone else felt similarly about the dynamics that seem to be setting up for the Utah game.
Hope also springs eternal that we will begin to see progress in those areas that the whole world now knows are weaknesses. The awfulness of our O-line is so completely out of character and dumbfounding, really, that I have to believe it will turn around. At least, I am eager to see the next game to see if it does.
