Just to check, are you saying that the fact Speights got the start is itself an interesting commentary or are you saying that somewhere (on this board?) there is a interesting commentary about the fact that Speights started?

Yeah, I guess I should have been clearer. I meant to say that Speights' start was an interesting commentary on Scarlett, since the latter started against UCD. I am guessing that commentary is that they no longer see Scarlett as our second-best every-down back.

I had guessed as much, but was wondering if there was an interesting commentary written somewhere that I had missed. 

As I have been saying, it seems to me that they get better results with Scarlett playing,

Well, so far for 2018 they both have 31 carries. Scarlett for 2.5 yds/carry, Speights for 5.1. 

The carries are small enough you have to use them with caution. Speights hits the hole harder and runs tougher, but is not much for patience and finding a hole. I kind of liked how Scarlett looked catching passes out of the backfield last year, but both he (2 catches) and Speights (3 catches) have barely done so this season.
