The carries are small enough you have to use them with caution. Speights hits the hole harder and runs tougher, but is not much for patience and finding a hole. I kind of liked how Scarlett looked catching passes out of the backfield last year, but both he (2 catches) and Speights (3 catches) have barely done so this season.
Scarlett is great on the "wheel" route. The problem we have is that we have to hold the back in to block lots of the time. Scarlett has gotten the "short yardage" carries, so that tends to keep his average down. However, if he is allowed to "free lance" like he did against Utah, he can be a reliable back, which is what we need now.
