Could be worse... UCLA is at 1.37 pts/dr, dead last in terms of the Pac-12. In terms of offensive ppd among teams in the Pac-12 and/or on our schedule, we are better than USC (2.05), SDSU (1.82), UofA (1.76), Utah (1.68), California (1.61), and UCLA (1.37). The problem is that defensively we are giving up 2.21 ppd, third worst in the Pac-12 (UCLA at 3.21 and OSU at 4.16 are worse). Thus, in terms of net ppd we are towards the bottom, with only UCLA, OSU, and Arizona (and unfortunately, UofA is not on our schedule) worse.
There's also some strength of schedule stuff going on, and Stanford has played some pretty good defenses.
FEI is a compilation of per drive stats adjusted for opponents. [Though at the moment I don't quite remember which ones are used.]
Stanford is still at #22 FEI overall, he doesn't yet list offense-only stats.
