The quote said he is "available" which seems to be carefully worded. I am not sure that means he will play.  He may sit out Q1 and play on an as needed basis only?

What exactly does “as needed” mean? Unless we’re up 30 points in the fourth quarter, everyone is needed.

Don’t mean that as a critique of you, donkey, because I’ve seen a lot of people use the term. Even Shaw seems to go by it sometimes (e.g. AT Hall in Oregon game). I just don’t understand it.

I know it's not what he said, but I interpreted it as "If we can get away without playing him and still do well, I don't want to risk any further injury to him." FWLIW.
