Sorry, I misinterpreted your post for another one implying that Shaw was being stubborn.  Lots of people on this board clinging to the notion that Shaw is stubbornly insisting on running the ball, even though we are running it less as a percentage of plays than any Pac-12 team not named Washington State, and Shaw will never be confused with the pirate.

Perhaps the reason for that is because Stanford always runs on first down and usually gets stuffed for little to no gain, putting them into immediate passing situation.
