Stanford ranks 125th in rushing in the country and 119th on "stuff rate" (% of runs that are stopped for no gain or lost yardage). Shaw is run heavy on 1st down (58%) -- and less so after being "behind the sticks" (down and distance wise). fwiw, KJ completes more than 70% of his passes on 1st down (64% overall).
on OL practicing, it is tough with so few healthy bodies (and how did Herbig get hurt in a non-contact week?). the situation will be even tougher in the spring as we could have as few as 8 OL available (and may be not that many if any surgeries etc). and recall, no young guys scrimmages on Friday's this year because of not enough OL. poor OL recruiting and self-sanctions overall on recruiting numbers really are hurting.
