Didn't Speights pick up the blitz that allowed Costello to throw the touchdown pass to JJAW?  Don't underestimate the importance of pass blocking for a Stanford running back.

Of course, Scarlett is pretty good pass blocking as well.

Indeed Speights did. It was a necessary block, because KJ would not have had enough time without it. This is an area where he has improved. That said, I think Scarlett is better, partly because he is heavier. Speights almost missed the guy on that play. Speights also has some problems with getting overpowered quickly.
