Reminds me of Frankie Brennan's story about how Nicole Gibbs and Mallory Burdette had to play each other in a tournament for the singles championship (I think; Gibbs won), and after the match they had to keep them separated for an hour, then they gradually started bringing them together so that they could play their doubles championship match (which they won).
This was my first look at Madurawe and she is impressive. If we can avoid the injury bug we are going to have a great team this year.
That story was great! I wondered the same thing when I saw the picture, but I also thought it could have just been that Lampl and Yee are close friends/classmates/usual doubles partners, so it would have been natural for them to gravitate to one another when it was time to take the picture. Also, I wonder if Gordon and Madurawe know each other from junior tennis, too (they're both from the South Bay, with Madurawe from Sunnyvale and Gordon from Saratoga). Gordon and Arbuthnott managed a smile together last year, but Lampl is, ahem, a bit more fiery than Arbuthnott, so I wouldn't be surprised!
