This is awful play calling and I have no idea how one can think otherwise.

It was Shaw sitting on a lead. You may not agree with that philosophy and it's not very exciting football, but as others have pointed out when he does that we usually win the game.
Sorry you felt so bad, but that's the way Shaw coaches. Constantly grousing about it isn't going to change anything.
