The conference got more competitive. UW and WSU have good coaches, and are no longer doormats or mediocre outfits at best.

Sure, but that only explains us going 3-3 against them. 5-1? That means we've also regressed.

Also the fact that we've yet to play a road game this year against a team that wasn't beating themselves and look competent. Hell, we easily could've lost to ASU too. It's one thing to lose by a FG to a good team, it's another to be completely uncompetitive, and in 3/4 of our losses (again, barring a miracle here) we've been completely uncompetitive.
