I remember last year's WSU-Cal game was played in similarly horrible conditions, and it was an awful experience for both the fans who showed up, and for maintaining healthful conditions for student-athletes to play in. WSU got annihilated 37-3, which I think at least may have been, in part, attributable to the unhealthful conditions.
It's a little too soon to say. Air quality levels in specific areas can evolve quickly and are hard to predict. Right now, the forecast for tomorrow is "Orange" (not "Red"), although today's forecast for Orange proved to be undershot.
I sure hope the game can played, but I agree that there has to be a limit with regard to safety. I just don't know where that limit is.
I'm the guy that was dumb enough to play hoops at lunchtime today (it was indoors, but still gross.)
