The third quarter was even worse. Our defense got a bit better but our offense collapses. A 9-15 quarter leading to a 41-58 deficit. All the worst tendencies on our team erupted at once. Alanna fouling, bad free throw shooting, Dijonai going cold, turnovers, etc.
Hah. It might be that I've missed about 50% of it reloading the feed, and I eventually gave up given how ugly it was to watch. A few of our terrible turnovers were when the defense collapsed as we tried to get inside. What I don't understand is why we don't go to the hot hand. It seemed like Jerome had a few pretty treys and then she disappeared from most of the second quarter. And Lacie was one of the few players who seemed like she was playing with energy and trying to attack the basket. Meanwhile, Carrington keeps chucking things up that go nowhere. She didn't even make the fast break that was essentially undefended (notwithstanding the phantom foul call on Rice). And Williams seems really off today - not moving as swiftly, or trying to create offense. What a depressing showing.
