BTW, it's a little misleading to say that playing in an El Paso bowl game gives Stanford a foot in the Texas recruiting door.  El Paso is pretty much halfway to Los Angeles for some of Texas (~12 hr drive); El Paso is about an 11 hr drive from Houston and a 9.3 hr drive from Dallas.

We added an El Paso office in the last twelve months, and one of the first things that the managing partner told me was "You have to understand that this is not a Texas office.  It's miles from anywhere."
