Redshirt Watch. Here's some notations on redshirts regained and burned here at the end of the season. As a reminder, you can play in four games and still be eligible to redshirt.

- There were no Sun (Bowl redshirt) burns. In all, four freshman had their shirts burned: DE Thomas Booker, DE Andres Fox, CB Kendall Williamson, and WR Michael Wilson. I think three of those are clearly good burns. Without the new rule, the staff may have burned more shirts by playing freshmen in the second half of the season, but perhaps not. We've seen that they are reluctant to burn redshirts. Four has been standard.
- Sophomore WR Connor Wedington did not play in the Sun Bowl. Having played in only four games this season, he regains his redshirt.
- Incredibly, five players regained their redshirts this year. In addition to Wedington: sophomore OT/OG Foster Sarell, junior OLB Curtis Robinson, junior WR Donald Stewart, and senior S Ben Edwards. Of course, we now know that Edwards will not take advantage of the redshirt. We'll see if the others do.
- I have updated the eligibility placings for Wedington and the scholarship counts his class at the top of this thread. The regained redshirts definitely help the pipeline in certain areas, though that is mitigated by Edwards' departure.

It will be useful as we examine needs for the 2020 recruiting class.

Maybe do that in a new thread for 2019 personnel?
