- Sophomores
- C Drew Dalman. He's been on and off the field all season - played in seven games, with a start - though it is not always clear if that is for health or performance reasons. Do not know why he did not play in the Sun Bowl.
- FB Houston Heimuli. He's got positional PT in other games, so unsure why he did not play. This was his first missed game of the year, so he may be hurt.
- DE Ryan Johnson. He's played in six games this year. Not sure if that is because of injuries or lack of performance.
- OT/OG Foster Sarell. Big Game was his third and last game of the season. Perhaps they did not want to risk further injury.
- WR Connor Wedington. He did not play in order to regain his redshirt, according to Coach Shaw.
Note: Guess who DID make an appearance? Kaden Smith, Dylan Jackson, and Brandon Simmons! I'm guessing they got to go in for the kneel-down as a last hurrah...
- Juniors
- OG Nate Herbig...
- OLB Curtis Robinson. Played in two games this year. Is injury or performance holding him off the field? At any rate, he regained his redshirt; we'll see if that matters.
- RB Trevor Speights. Has played in nine games this year. He started as the backup to Bryce Love, but was supplanted by Cam Scarlett. Perhaps he's injured. Dorian Maddox got his snaps in the Sun Bowl, and looked good!
- WR Donald Stewart. The culmination of a season's enigma. Played in the first three games of the year, and then disappeared. I suppose he could be injured. Or he could just not be good. It is still surprising that he does not play at all, even on ST. He played as a true frosh, for goodness' sake. And he played in every game last year.
- Seniors
- C Brian Chaffin. I don't think he's injured, but he didn't play against Kal, either. In fact, after playing in nine games, he did not make another appearance after the Oregon State game. Does not suggest he will come back next year.
- OG Nick Wilson. I don't think he's hurt. His is a weird situation. He played in every game until Kal; then did not play in Big Game. Not sure if he got any PT at guard this year, and there was certainly opportunity. He was the starting Ogre for most of the season. I wonder if he is angry he never got to play on the line. But I don't know why he did not play in the Sun Bowl.
- Fifth-Years
- WR Isaiah Brandt-Sims. Did not have one appearance this year after playing in 11 games last year. Crazy.
- ILB Jordan Perez. After playing in every game last year, he made two appearances this year, his last being against ND. He did not record a statistic. Did he peak his first year? But perhaps he had a season-long injury. I dunno.

Heimuli got a few (bad) ST snaps and 1 snap at fullback where he whiffed big time on a block.
Dylan Jackson can't bend his leg and didn't even travel with the team...Smith didn't play, and wasn't in on the kneel downs (I checked the full game footage on YouTube)...Simmons was in street clothes...so your note is incorrect on every count.
My guess is something is off with the participation report.
