I'll write the longer introduction post, but to correct a couple of small things in BC's kind post:
(1) I was not an employee of Borland. I was the lawyer who founded the company. I also did the financing vehicle that become E*Trade in the same year (1983). During the 70's I was a public defender, in the 80's an entrepreneurial lawyer, and then to the DA's office in 1990 as a high tech prosecution specialist.
(2) I have indeed published two novels and three novellas on Amazon, and thanks to BobK for reading one (I didn't know anyone here had). They are self-published, but the first was represented and accepted at Warner Communications back in 1991. There's a long story there. I write under a pseudonym ("Joseph Wurtenbaugh") which the curious can find on Amazon with a little search.
(3) I didn't adopt the handle 'Genuine Realist' out of any inflated belief in the value of my opinions, but back in 1998 in response to Long Winded on the old Bootboard who was incredibly obnoxious, incredibly opinionated, and wrong about just about everything.
Thanks for the welcome.
Yeah, I remember GR vs LW.
GR thought Tyrone Willingham was fantastic; LW thought TW was fantastically awful.
LW did have to eat his words a bit after the 1999 season.
