Does anyone know if basketballs bounce and move through the air differently at higher altitudes? I ask because I used to live at close to 4K altitude and played tennis, and a tennis ball bounces noticeably differently at high altitude compared to sea level. It was always a bit of an adjustment to play on the coast, and vice versa for those who came to us. I wonder if that could explain our first half misfires, even at the margins? At least in tennis, it definitely took a bit of an adjustment.
