Some more lineup shuffles today. Doubles was as normal, but Gordon is out of the singles lineup and everyone else shifts up a spot, putting Madurawe at #6.
We’re up one after doubles (Lampl/Yee and Lord/Madurawe booked wins, while Arbuthnott/Gordon lost on Court 2).
So far, we’ve booked first sets from Lampl at 2, Shin at 4, and Higuchi at 5. Lord leads 4-3 at 1, Arbuthnott leads 5-3 at 3, and Madurawe leads 6-5 at 6.
Lord is in for a fight today. Sangwan knocked off Cal’s Rosenqvist already this weekend, so Sangwan’s ranking should see a boost.
That’s first sets for everyone now.
1. Lord leads 6-3, 0-0
2. Lampl leads 6-2, 2-0
3. Arbuthnott leads 6-3, 1-0
4. Shin leads 6-1, 1-0
5. Higuchi leads 6-2, 2-1
6. Madurawe leads 7-5, 1-0
They played it out with Cal (who won 5-2), and given the first sets, I wouldn’t mind doing the same here.
Going quickly now:
1. Lord leads 6-3, 2-1
2. Lampl wins 6-2, 6-1
3. Arbuthnott leads 6-3, 3-2
4. Shin leads 6-1, 5-0
5. Higuchi wins 6-2, 6-2 (first off court)
6. Madurawe leads 7-5, 2-3
