UNC has to have a special motivation today--we've taken them out of the tournament the last two years. Last year, they were the #2 seed (and #1 team in the country), and we beat them in the Round of 16. The year before, UNC was again the #2 seed, and we beat them as the #7 in the quarterfinals. 

This year, they're the #2 seed again. And they're playing us again. 

I don't have a lot of confidence in how this match goes, but I'm certainly not picking against Stanford. Bobby at CTN thinks Stanford wins 4-2 (https://www.collegetennistoday.com/item/...eview.html) behind the doubles point and singles wins from Arbuthnott, Shin, and Higuchi. I'll pick Stanford to win 4-3, with UNC winning the doubles point, and Stanford getting singles wins from Lord, Arbuthnott, Shin, and Gordon with the clincher in a tough third set. I love that we got vintage Higuchi in the last match, but Alle Sanford is 5'11" and a big hitter, and that's Higuchi kryptonite. I hate picking Lampl to fall short, too--it just feels so wrong--but I think Daavettila will take advantage of Lampl's inconsistent serve just enough today.
