Respective World Amateur and NCAA womne Rankings. (NCAA Final match play record in parenthesis)
(2-2) Andrea Lee 4, 2
(2-2) Albane Valenzuela 5, 17
Aline Krauter 167, 66
(0-2) Ziyi Wang NR, 189
(0-2) Mika Liu NR, 124
(0-1) Jaravee Boonchant 25, 4
Gina Kim 58, 38
(0-1) Ana Belac 64, 45
(0-0-1) Virginian Elena Carta 106, 50
Miranda Wang NR, 148’
Duke’s team is imported:
Boonchant (Thailand), Carta (Italy), Belac (Slovenia), Wang (China). The lone American, Freshman Miranda Kim, is from North Carolina.
The draw will be interesting.
Walker cannot have faith in Wang and may toss her to the top of the order
and bank on Stanford wins from three of her remaining four.
The guess, however, is that Walker will demonstrate her faith in Lee
and play her order straight, leading Lee out against Boonchant.
This is a Valenzuela course; she can beat anyone and everyone here.
PS: Wait 'til next year.
One of Brooke Seay and Lei Ye will seize the fifth spot
and the other could grab the fourth away from Liu.
And Calista Reyes, if she can up her game over the summer,
could push for a spot, too.
Note:
Admittedly by tiny margins,
Stanford scored better than Duke
on two of the three days of stroke play.
