Wang drove in the fairway but had a slightly blocked approach to the green. She drew the ball around the trees, on the fringe about 15 feet away. Carta drove in the fairway bunker. She caught her bunker shot too clean and overshot the green. It is in a penalty area just off the green, but she will have a shot because the ball did not roll down into the creek.
Wang's putt was longer than it looked initially. The announcers said 30 feet. It stopped 1 inch short.
Carta had 3 feet to extend the match. She made it. On to the 23rd.
