If we only have to play three games then it isn't too complicated, but if we have to play 4 who is going to start that 4th game? Also, how we handle our bull pen could be significant. Crossing my fingers, but I may have used that up charm for the Men's golf team.
Frosh Alex Williams has been pitching very well in midweek games all season long. He is 7-1 in 9 starts with a 2.48 ERA. I would assume he would be the starter in a fourth game. If it goes to a fifth, then it's anybody they can find whose arm still works. That's always a tough situation, but Stanford has a good, relatively deep pen and could handle it better than most.
Sacramento State did play 7 games in four days to win the WAC tournament. They went through a lot of guys. That's where the very deep bullpen saved them. Still, in game 4 they started a guy who is otherwise an infielder and had only pitched 9 innings all year with an 8.0 ERA. He went 5.0 giving up 2 hits and 2 runs - 1 earned.
